Financial literacy is increasingly recognised as an essential life skill for people from all backgrounds. Inadequate financial knowledge often leads to poor financial decisions that can have a disastrous effect on the well-being of individuals, families, and communities.
Following the success of the first
Citigroup-INSEAD Financial Education Summit in Hong Kong in 2004, and to meet the growing demand for financial education programmes that reach different population segments, the 2005 Summit will focus on advancing financial literacy among both youth and adults in Asia Pacific at both national and grassroots levels.
